About Kellie-Jayne Cox

I qualified as a Solicitor in May 2004.   My passion for law came from studying law GCSE at school and I was fortunate enough to be taught by a lovely local Magistrate.  After school, I would often spend the summer holidays sitting in (where appropriate) and observing hearings at Alton Magistrates’ Court and that is where my desire to train as a solicitor began! Little did I know that many years later I would attend that very same Court to represent my own clients.

I went onto train with Dutton Gregory Solicitors in Winchester who continue to be a leading regional firm and I was very lucky to receive great training from a brilliant family Partner of the Firm.  I went on to specialise in family law dealing with all aspects of relationship breakdowns for both married and unmarried couples, including financial and children matters.  During my career, I have also undertaken a significant amount of work involving vulnerable clients, including high risk victims of domestic abuse and those with learning difficulties.

I am also incredibly passionate about Education law, specifically Special Educational Needs.  I can offer support and advice on the Education and Health Care Plan Process, including reviews and appeals against Local Authority decisions or simply offer advice and support for parents who are just starting on their journey and are not sure which way to turn to ensure the best support for their child.

I also work as a Mediator, specialising in family, civil and special educational needs.  My mediation skills are reflected in my day to day legal work as I like to approach matters in a manner that will achieve the best outcome for my clients and to reach a resolution wherever possible.  I strongly believe in the mediation process which enables parties to reach agreements between themselves without the involvement of the Court.  It also encourages positive communications which can be the key to resolution and future working relationships, particularly co-parenting relationships.

I pride myself on being approachable and down to earth and always go the extra mile for my clients.  I also strive to deal with matters in a personable and non – inflammatory manner to ensure the best outcomes for the future.

I have worked in and around Alton for the last 15 years, having grown up and schooled here.  I live locally in Holybourne with my husband and two young children and in my spare time I enjoy martial arts and fund raising for charities that are close to my heart, including the National Autistic Society, Dogs for Autism and Disability Challengers.

Kellie – Jayne is also a Trustee of Dogs For Autism Charity, which is very close to her heart.  She is also on the Board of Governors at Hollywater School which is a local special needs school in Bordon.
