Kellie-Jayne Cox - Freelance Solicitor - About me

I qualified as a solicitor in May 2004 having undertaken my legal training with Dutton Gregory Solicitors in Winchester, Hampshire, who continue to be a leading regional firm in the South East.  During my career, now spanning over twenty years, I have worked for other local leading firms, including, Biscoes and Macdonald Oates as well as spending a period of 5 years running my own practice.   Each of these opportunities has given me incredibly valuable experience that has led me to being in the fortunate position of being able to offer my own individual legal service.

My main area of specialism is family law, and I am able to deal with all aspects arising from relationship breakdowns for both married and unmarried couples relating to both financial and children matters.  During my career, I have also undertaken a significant amount of work involving vulnerable clients, including high risk victims of domestic abuse.

In more recent years, I have also gained a passion for Education law, specifically Special Educational Needs and can offer support and advice on the Education and Health Care Plan Process, including reviews and appeals against Local Authority decisions.

I am also a qualified Mediator in family, civil and special educational needs and this is very much reflected in my approach to achieve the best outcome for my clients and to reach a resolution wherever possible.  I strongly believe in the mediation process which enables parties to reach agreements between themselves without the involvement of the Court.  It also encourages positive communications which can be the key to resolution.

I pride myself on being approachable and down to earth and always go the extra mile for my clients.  I also strive to deal with matters in a personable and non – inflammatory manner to ensure the best outcome for my clients.

I have worked in and around Alton for the last 15 years, having grown up and schooled here.  I live locally in Holybourne with my husband and two young children and in my spare time I enjoying keeping fit and have been known to undertake a half marathon or two in the past for local charities that are close to my heart, including Trealors, National Autistic Society and Disability Challengers.
